This term is used to refer generally to people or other living things. When someone or something is "genderless" there is no direct connection to masculinity or femininity. There are several gender identities which are considered "genderless" such as agender and androgyne.
Note: This term is sometimes used interchangably with "gender neutral". However, the term "gender neutral" is more often used to refer to physical objects (clothing, tattoos, etc) rather than living beings.
