Introduction
This page is for the discussion of the surgical procedure known as mandible contouring. This is a surgery that feminizes one's jaw. Some cisgender women will get this surgery, however, the focus of this page is regarding this surgery's usefulness for transgender women.
Not all transgender women need or want surgeries intended to feminize the face. Not all transgender women have masculine jawlines, and of those who do; not all will seek out/desire surgeries to change this. However, for those who desire these facial surgeries, this is a very important step in the journey of achieving gender euphoria and relieving gender dysphoria.
This website is not a replacement for a consultation with a surgeon. If you seek out surgical procedures, remember to do as much research as possible from as many sources as possible. Additionally, do as much research as you can regarding the surgeons you seek out. Look for reviews (not just the ones on the surgeon's website) with photos and such.

Jaw contouring (reshaping or tapering) is used to feminize jawlines. This is a surgery for which you must be at least 18 years of age to undergo.
