Sex Assigned At Birth - (n.) - This refers to the act of assigning or designating a particular sex to a person based on their chromosomes, hormones, internal and external reproductive organs, and secondary sex characteristics. This is often done by medical professionals during pregnancy or immediately after childbirth. The sex a person is assigned at birth doesn’t determine or indicate anything about their authentic gender experience or identity.
Sex Assignment - (n.) - The process by which one's biological sex is determined at birth.
Sex Change - (n.) - An outdated and inaccurate term for what is now called transitioning.
Sie/Sym - (pronoun) - A gender neutral set of pronouns. Can be used by anyone who wishes to do so.
S.I.G. - (acronym) - Socially Imposed Gender (Note: This term is usually reserved for those who are intersex.)
Singular They - (pn.) - Yes, this is grammatical. “They” is a convenient way to refer to a person of uncertain gender, or whose preferred pronouns are unknown. Some people also adopt “they” as their preferred pronouns.
Situational Genderfluid - (adj.) - Someone who is situationally genderfluid moves between genders based on their environment. As a sub-section of genderfluid, it implies a pattern.
Skoliosexual - (adj.) - A controversial term referring to attraction towards those who are nonbinary or gender-variant.
Soft Butch - (n.) - Both a gender identity and term used to describe the nonconforming gender expression of someone who has some masculine or butch traits, but doesn’t fully fit the stereotypes associated with masculine or butch cisgender lesbians.
Social Dysphoria - (n.) - In trans discussions, dysphoria that is caused by being perceived or treated by other people as an incorrect gender.
Social Transition - (n.) - When someone changes their name, pronouns, hairstyle, and clothing to be more gender affirming in their pursuit of gender euphoria.
Standards of Care - (n.) - Full name: “Standards of Care for the Health of Transsexual, Transgender, and Gender Nonconforming People.” These are non-binding guidelines that influence the decisions of many doctors and other gatekeepers in determining whether trans people are allowed to get transitional medical care. Often criticized for being overly strict, for preventing trans youth from transitioning, and for compelling nonbinary trans people to hide or lie about their experiences in order to receive treatment.
Stealth - (n.) - When a transgender person lives and generally passes as their true gender without disclosing that they are trans. This can be done either for personal or safety reasons (or a combination of both).
Stone Butch - (n.) - Both a gender identity and term used to describe the nonconforming gender expression of someone who embodies traits associated with feminine butchness or stereotypes associated with traditional masculinity.

Sworn Virgins - (n.) - A person who chooses to avoid sex and live as the binary gender opposite of that assigned to them at birth. Usually used to refer to a traditional social role in Albania and Montenegro, which does not have an exact Western equivalent.
Synthetic Hormones - (n.) - Hormones with a chemical structure that differs from the natural hormones produced by the body. These are produced in a lab.
