Introduction
The word monosexual is an umbrella term used to refer to several different sexual orientations. It is not commonly used on its own as an identifying term, and most people who are monosexual do not introduce themselves as such. This label is used more for the purposes of categorization rather than self-identification.
Anyone of any gender identity can fall under the label of monosexual. The opposite of monosexual is multisexual.

General Information
Someone who is monosexual is only attracted to one gender. More specific labels are generally used as terms of self-identification to clarify which gender is the target of attraction. Some specific labels also indicate the gender of the one experiencing said attraction.

Homosexual/Gay
The word homosexual is used to describe the experience of having seuxal attraction to others of the same gender as yourself. The word gay is slang for homosexual. Anyone of any gender identity can use this term, though more specific language is often used to clarify the gender identities of both the one experiencing said attraction as well as the general target of the attraction as well.

Homosexual/Gay Pride Flag
The colors of the gay rainbow flag have the meanings as follows;
lavender - diversity
hot pink - sex,
red - life,
orange - healing,
yellow - sunlight,
green - nature,
turquoise - magic/art,
indigo - serenity,
violet - spirit.

Heterosexual/Straight
Experiencing sexual attraction to others with the opposite gender as yourself. Heterosexual men are attracted to women. Heterosexual women are attracted to men. Straight is slang for heterosexual.

Skoliosexual
Sexually attracted to gender-variant or non-binary people. (Not to be confused with fetishization of trans or non-binary people. This term is controversial.)
