Datefriend/Datemate - (n.) - A gender neutral term for a significant other. Can be used in the same manner as words such as boyfriend or girlfriend.
Deadname - (n.) - Many transgender people decide to change their given name as a part of their social transition. The 'original' name that is no longer used is often referred to as a 'deadname.' To deadname someone is to refer to them by this name. Doing so is considered to be transphobic.
Deep Stealth - (n.) - Living full-time as one’s correct gender, without any of the people one regularly interacts with knowing that one is trans.
Degender - (v.) - To ignore or invalidate someone’s gender. Similar to misgendering, but does not necessarily impose a different, inaccurate gender onto the target person while invalidating them.
Degendering - (v.) - The act of eliminating references to a specific gender, or the act of making something genderless.
Dehumanization - (n.) - A kind of stigma that lessens a person by making them seem less than human; often likening them to an animal, machine or monster. A common component of transphobia.
Demiboy/Demiman - (n.) - Someone who identifies partially, but not wholly, with being a boy or a man.
When someone decides to 'undo' their transition, be it socially or medically. Detransitioning can occur for various reasons. A common reason is due to lack of support from family, community, or friends. Some people detransition due to realizing that they are not transgender, though this is quite rare.
To stop, pause, or reverse some or all of the effects of transitioning.
D.F.A.B. - (acronym) - Designated Female At Birth (Note: This term is usually reserved for those who are intersex.)
D.G.A.B. - (acronym) - Designated Gender At Birth (Note: This term is usually reserved for those who are intersex.)
Diamoric - (adj.) - An umbrella term used by nonbinary people to refer to attraction that cannot be described as gay or straight.
Diaphragm - (n.) - A prescription contraceptive that is 83%-94% effective at preventing pregnancy.
Dichogamy - (n.) - The condition in which an organism changes sex during its lifetime.
Dihydrotestosterone - (n.) - An endogenous androgensex steroid and hormone primarily involved in the growth and repair of the prostate and the penis, as well as the production of sebum and body hair composition.
Dilation - (n.) - Inserting a designated instrument into the vaginal cavity to keep or stretch it to a particular size.
Drag is done for a wide variety of reasons and purposes. People in drag may attempt to plausibly appear as their target gender, parody gender, exaggerate gender, or deconstruct gender. Some people who wear drag are trans and some are not.
Someone who dresses in an exaggeration of masculinity, typically as part of a performance. Drag Kings can be any gender, trans or cis.
A person who is not male but dresses up to resemble one. Trans men are not inherently drag kings because they aremen. However, some people who appear to be drag kings may later come to identify as trans men (who may or may not continue to perform as drag kings).

D.S.M. - (acronym) - The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. The DSM-IV includes Gender Identity Disorder, which was renamed Gender Dysphoria in the DSM-V. There is controversy over whether these ideas should be included in the DSM or not.
Dysex - (adj.) - A term for dyadic/perisex/endosex individuals who currently have or in the past had non-typical sex characteristics that are not inherently intersex by themself whether from birth or developed. Includes polymastia, polythelia, athelia, amastia, breast hypoplasia, breast hypertrophy, gynecomostia, hypotonia, bicornuate uterus, septate uterus, retroverted uterus, macropenis, macroorchidism, macrovagina, labial hypertrophy, etc.
Dysphoria - (n.) - In trans discussions, a feeling of displeasure, stress, anxiety or depression related to one’s gender.
Dysphoria Hoodie - (n.) - An oversized/bulky/loose hoodie (typically dark in color) worn by a dysphoric transgender individual for the purpose of to hiding the presence (or lack of presence) of breasts to appear more androgynous. This may be done consciously or unconsciously, and is more common among transgender adolescents or those who are early in zir transition. This can sometimes alleviate feelings of gender dysphoria.
