Introduction

The label of gynosexual is one of those labels that exists more as a technicality. It is a term that technically applies to numerous people, though it is rarely used as self-descriptor. Not all of the people for whom this term can be applied to will want it used for them. Even some of those who do identify with this term may not necessarily introduce themselves as using it.

While this website is primarily regarding the topic of gender-related concepts, some pages (such as this one) are dedicated to the topic of sexual orientation. The LGBTQ+ community includes both those who are gender variant as well as those of uncommon sexualities. While these sexualities are not the focus of The Transgender Dictionary, they shall be included for educational and inclusivity purposes.

General Information

Gynosexual is an uncommonly used term that is used to refer to those who are attracted to women, females, femininity, or anything along those lines. There are numerous terms which are more commonly used to describe attraction to women, some of which will be either explained further down on this page or otherwise hyperlinked.

Heterosexual men and homosexual women both fall under the label of gynosexual. In these cases, they would also fall under the label of monosexual. Many multisexual people fall under the labels of both gynosexual and androsexual.
