The term "androsexual" is a unique term that manages to be both extremely broad and rarely used. Not all of the people who this term may technically apply to will necessarily identify with it. In part due to this, "androsexual" is not a term many people (even those who feel as though it applies to them) will bring up when introducing themselves to others. More than anything, this is a term that is used for categorization purposes. There are many topics which can fall underneath the term "androsexual" including terms which some people are more likely to identify as.
The primary focus of The Transgender Dictionary is to discuss topics which relate more so to the topic of gender. Some pages (such as this one) exist to relate to the topic of sexual orientation/sexuality/relationship types.
Some sexual orientations are defined in ways which indicate that the people for whom they apply to are those of a particular gender identity. Most do not. Not all of those who have uncommon sexualities are gender variant. Due to the overlap in the experiences of those who are transgender and heterosexual as well as the experiences of those who are cisgender while not being heterosexual, these topics have been included in The Transgender Dictionary.
Clicking on words/terms/phrases/etc throughout this page that are underlined will lead you to other parts of The Transgender Dictionary. Clicking on underlined links underneath the [External Links] subsection will lead you to websites that are not affiliated with The Transgender Dictionary, but provide information that is in some way relevant to topics that are discussed in the rest of the page.
These additional sources are provided to encourage readers to seek out other people's explanations of the topics being discussed to develop deeper understanding of said topics. It is never a good idea to rely on only a single source of information for any topic. Reading the words of many different people helps when it comes to developing complex opinions on unfamilar topics.

"Androsexual" refers to those who are attracted to men, males, and/or masculinity (or anything along those lines). There are numerous terms which are more commonly used to describe attraction to men. Some of these terms will be primarily described on this particular page, or will have brief descriptions alongside links to other pages which describe the topic in further detail.
Certain sexual orientations can fall underneath the category of androsexual depending on who they are being used to describe. Women who identify as heterosexual, as well as men that identify as homosexual fall underneath the category of androsexual. People who are multisexual typically fall underneath the categories of being both androsexual and gynosexual.

The origin of the androsexual flag is unfortunately unknown. In 2016 it was posted to DeviantArt, though it is most likely at least a few years older than that. The purpose of this flag, like any other pride flag, is to unite and represent all of those who identify as androsexual.

The blue stripe in the androsexual flag represents attraction to men and/or masculinity.
The brown stripe in the androsexual flag represents stability and support.
The purple stripe in the androsexual flag represents experiencing attraction regardless of gender identity.

The term toric is used by and for enbans who are attracted to men (whether exclusively or not). Anyone of any nonbinary gender identity may use this word to describe attraction to men.
The sexual orientation known as "toric" was coined in July of 2017 by tumblr user bigendering. The term "quadrisian" was coined around the same time, (with an identical meaning) though it did not become as popular. Which word a particular person will use is down to personal preference.
The Latin suffix "-tor" indicates a masculine connotation. The Latin suffix "-trix" can be found in the term "trixic," which is the feminine counterpart to "toric."

The term "uranic" can be used by anyone that experiences attraction to men, masculine-aligned, or neutral-aligned individuals. It describes attraction to anyone who is not a woman, woman-aligned, or a feminine-aligned enban. Despite the broad potential application of the term, it is a sexual orientation that is primarily used by enbans who prefer to use a term to describe attraction that reveals nothing about the identity of the person experiencing said attraction.
The distinction in meaning and usage for the term "uranic" when compared to the term "androsexual" is subtle. Androsexual is a slightly broader term that is used more as an umbrella category. Uranic is a term that is used more often as a chosen label.
The term "uranic" was coined in August of 2017 by a user on tumblr who frequently changes their username.

The flag was created by the same user which coined the term it is used to represent in September of 2017. Use it to celebrate Uranic pride day on September 17.

There was no particular meaning for the colors proposed alongside the flag. However, based on color meanings for other flags, it can be assumed that the blue stripes represent the spectrum of attraction to masculinity and that the yellow stripes represent the spectrum of being nonbinary.
